Rio Bravo Mexico: Deaf School
The Central Conference of the Mexico Methodist Church is inviting people to come and work at the MCCS, a Deaf School for children in Rio Bravo. On a site trip recently, visitors were able to see the children learning their colors, doing math, and learning ASL. The projects include cinder block construction of dorms, as well as enrichment (VBS-type) activities for deaf children ages 4 up. Costs vary depending on how many days you stay and whether you fly or drive to the border at McAllen TX. You bring linens, meals are provided at the school. For more information, contact Texas Conference Project Coordinator Wineva Hankamer, winevah@yahoo.com.
